Windows Download

To use MovingPicture, you will need one of the following files, depending on the editor you use.
All versions of Windows use the same version (i.e. Windows 7, Vista, XP).

Download MovingPicture for Avid (32-bit)
Download MovingPicture for Avid (64-bit / MC6+)
Download MovingPicture for Premiere (64-bit / CS5+)

NOTE: Avid 32-bit versions of cannot read moves from shows created using the 64-bit version.

After Downloading

32-bit versions of MovingPicture are in self-extracting format to speed up the downloading process.  Simply double click on the .exe file and it will ask what folder you what to put them in. Close your editor, if it is open. Put the files on the desktop, and them drag them to the proper place (listed below) required by your editor. 

64-bit versions of MovingPicture will install directly. Double-clicking on the installer will be automatically install the MovingPicture plug in into its proper location. If that has changed, you have changed it, navigate the file selector to the appropriate place.

  • After Effects looks in the Plug-ins\Standard\Effects  folder for plug-ins.
  • Avid 32 bit editors look in the AVX_Plug-Ins  folder for plug-ins.
  • Avid 64 bit editors look in the AVX2_Plug-Ins  folder for plug-ins.
  • Premiere Pro looks in the  Common/Plugins/CSxx/Mediacore folder for plug-ins.
  • MovingPicture Producer  can be placed in any  folder.

  • MovingPicture does not extract the picture to move from the NLE's timeline, as most limit the resolution that is passed onto any plug in to the final output video resolution, which is too small for zooming into without breaking up. Use the Load Picture menu option in the MovingPicture interface to load your image.
  • When rendered, a red bar will appear in the middle of the image. This will disappear when the product is registered, but you will need to re-render the move. 

Using  MovingPicture in Avid

  1. Drag a clip to the timeline. This should be video clip or a video-size still. Placing the hi-res still will slow rendering and may cause other problems.
  2. Make the clip's length the time you want the move to occur in.
  3. Open up the "Effects Palette" from Avid's "Tools" menu.
  4. Drag the MovingPicture effect over the clip.
  5. Click on the setup effect button under the source/master screens.
  6. The "Effect Editor" palette will open and MovingPicture icon will appear in the top line.
  7. Click (or double click) on the MovingPicture icon on the left side.
  8. The MovingPicture user interface will come up on one of the screens.
  9. Load a picture using the "Load Picture" option in the "Files" menu.
  10. Move the yellow camera until the starting position is reached.
  11. Click on the timeline to set the time for the position you want to go to next.
  12. Move the yellow camera until the next position is reached.
  13. Play the move using the controls on the Viewer.
  14. Click on the round "OK" button.
  15. Render the effect.

Using  MovingPicture in Premiere and other NLE's

  1. Drag a clip to the timeline. This should be video clip or a video-size still. Placing the hi-res still will slow rendering and may cause other problems.
  2. Make the clip's length the time you want the move to occur in.
  3. Pull up the Video Filter list, and add the 'MovingPicture' filter to the clip.
  4. Load an image to animate using the 'Load Picture' menu option.
  5. Position the starting key frame by dragging the yellow box around.
  6. Click on the timeline to set when you want the next KeyFrame to occur.
  7. Position the key frame by dragging the yellow box around.
  8. Add as many KeyFrames as you would like.
  9. Preview the move by setting the timeline to the start are clicking on the Viewer's play button (or hit '0', 'P, or Space)
  10. Exit the plug-in via the Windows close box or the OK button.
  11. Preview your move.
