I bought Moving Picture in December of 2000. Since then we've used MovingPicture on several national shows- all on public television:
- "Gift of Music"- show with Mormon Tabernacle Choir & Utah Symphony airing in December- moves on historical images
- "Seasons of Life"- Mark O'Connor with Buffalo Philharmonic airing in January- moves on family pictures, seasonal images
- "Cincinnati May Festival: Carmina Burana"- on PBS in June, composer images, Cincinnati historical images
- "First Family of Jazz" which is a salute to Ellis Marsalis featuring his musical sons- Wynton, Branford, Delfrayo and Jason..... and Harry Connick Jr.- which will air on PBS in February.
First national show we used Moving Picture on was Cincinnati May Festival. When we brought the moves in to the finishing house, the editor was very impressed, asked us which NYC motion control house we had used.
For "First Family of Jazz," we shot a lengthy interview in Mr. Marsalis' home. His wife handed us a stack of photo albums and I grabbed the scanner I'd brought with me. A scanner that costs less than $100 and MovingPicture means I may never go to a motion control house again. www.brandenburgproductions.com

This is a fantastic program and a perfect offline editing tool for us. Each editor can easily make there zooms and pans and even create static shots cropped to 4:3 or 16:9. It is a time saver that we could not do without.

Habitat for Humanity International
Our story is pretty simple: the videos we produce contain a lot of history trying to explain Habitat's history and how our organization developed to become a worldwide movement.
The best (and maybe the only...) way to do that is by using pictures. So, before MovingPicture, we used to spend thousands of dollars on hiring a company in Atlanta to do those movements on their expensive equipment. After we bought MovingPicture, we started saving tons of money and also time (we do not travel anymore) and we get the best possible quality with the little effort.
Also, it was a good choice because our photographers use digital formats for all the pictures they take so it's very easy to transfer them to MovingPicture and use them however we want.

ABC News
Just completed my hour for ABC's 'In Search of America' series (titled: "Homeland"), which made extensive use of MovingPicture. My wife also used MP for her hour, also for the same series, called "Call of the Wild" which aired this past Tuesday. I sold the folks at the ABC Documentary unit (and my wife!) on MovingPicture and I must say that they were very happy with the results! (I'd already used it very extensively for a project I cut called "110 Stories" which is a 9/11-related piece airing on The Learning Channel.)

I just finished a HUGE Civil War documentary. I paid an artist a lot of money to draw 20 cells. I then spent a lot of time and money making moves with an animation camera. However, I re-did everything with StageTools. The quality was better, the zooms smoother, etc. The best money I have ever invested in software, bar none!

We are used MovingPicture edit plug-in to produce a PBS documentary, called "The Great American Footrace", which will air November, 2002. The race was run from LA to NYC back in 1928. We used over 200 images (Photos, maps, race programs etc.) to tell the story. MovingPicture has proved invaluable as we spice up these images.

We completed a project where 75% of all photographs were either panned or zoomed with the Moving Picture software with our media100 system. In fact we had previously shot all the photos and at the last minute before mastering, we heard about the MovingPicture software, we bought it and wow, I'm glad we did! the project just won an Emmy Award

We recently finished a project on Boxing, a 2 hour doc for A&E. The production company had problems clearing the rights to a particular fight and during the on-line we were able to substitute the shots with stills on the Symphony using Moving Picture.

Rodeo Circus Films
I used MovingPicture program in the making of our latest offering to Discovery titled "King of the Cowboys". It is the story of the greatest rodeo cowboy of all time, Ty Murray (also Jewel's boyfriend). MovingPicture worked great for my needs.

You would not believe how much easier your plug-in made our life!!!! Were not even using After Effects anymore...

We purchased moving picture during the attacks of September 11. It saved a documentary about Samuel Bak, an artist and holocaust survivor. I was called in after the previous editor has messed up all the camera moves on the paintings (and aspect ratios for 16:9.), and there was no time to recreate them all in After Effects. When I showed the producer how quickly I could create moves he could not believe it."

One of the most interesting projects I used Moving Picture for was a photo montage for a Bat Mitzvah. The father was adamant that he did not want a video camera there. He simply didn't want the guests distracted by the camera,
Yet, he did want to display a photo montage on an LCD projection system, and he wanted it to have motion and not just static images. I, of course told him I could do it. I then purchased Moving Picture.
I ended up making more money with much less effort than I would have if I had videotaped her party. When I showed the piece, the audience was blown away. Since that time I have received four referrals from that party alone. I have a short clip of the original piece on my website in streaming video.

I just wanted to share a story about MovingPicture and the money it has put in my pocket since buying it. Recently, a client had ......almost taken the stills for a project I was working on to the competition because of the motion control camera.
Being a small production facility.....(actually a one-man band) 20 or 30 thousand dollars for a motion control camera was absolutely out of the question. With nearly a quarter of my budget going out the door ... and worst yet ... to the competition.....I was a bit troubled.
Ironically, that evening I was surfing and found a post on one of the trade web boards titled, "Two must have programs for every edit suite" One of the suggestions was MovingPicture. This was just what the doctor ordered. (if it worked).
I downloaded a free tryout version, so what did I have to lose....and if it worked I could get the 2 grand back that was heading across town. Well needless to say. I got the stills back and amazed my client. He was so impressed with the ability to see the results so fast right in the project, with the ability to make changes. He's now bringing projects from other production houses to me for motion control.
Anyway the program paid for itself nearly 20 times on the first project, and continues to generate revenues that I would have never seen other wise.

One of our clients Future/Now Productions are wrapping up their film MC5*A True Testimonial (about the rock group the MC5), and are using Stage Tools on a DV Avid to edit literally hundreds and hundreds of still photos. Their director and editor David Thomas is very impressed with StageTools and really enjoys using it.

I just wanted to tell you that I used stage tools extensively in my forthcoming film Gettysburg The Boys in Blue & Gray which is being released in June. It will be shown on several PBS stations. The software really brought the archival material to life and there is no way I could have done this without your product. My sincere thanks to your good work!

We are currently working on a year-long project creating a multimedia presentation and commemorative DVD covering 150 years of medicine in Texas, for the Texas Medical Association sesquicentennial. It is being done Ken-Burns style using MovingPicture and priceless old photographs and artifacts gathered from throughout the state.
MovingPicture is making my job easier and faster, with awesome quality, and for demo purposes for the client, we can demo effects and ideas on my TiBook G4 right in the client's office -- or as we scan images.
I cannot thank you folks enough for the great software and support.
