For Immediate Release:
StageTools Announces Macromedia Flash Output for MovingPicture
Software for Animation of Still Images Over the Web
(Middleburg, VA – September 4, 2001) -- StageTools announced that it has added the ability to create Macromedia Flash files directly from its highly acclaimed MovingPicture pan and zoom application, in the same amount of download time as a typical Jpeg file.
With over 90% of online users able to view Flash, MovingPicture offers web designers the ability to bring life to static still images, by making the images come alive with motion.
MovingPicture is a tool for documentary and industrial filmmakers to pan and zoom on high-resolution images. It takes scanned images up to 4,000 pixels and allows for perfectly repeatable pans and zooms directly from a Windows or Macintosh computer or as a plug-in to most nonlinear editors.
MovingPicture is widely used by facilities as diverse as ABC, CBS, Foote, Cone & Belding, Henninger Video, Jack in the Box, Jim Henson Productions, Lifetime Television, MatchFrame Video, Microsoft, MS-NBC, National Film Board of Canada, NOB, the NY Mets, and WGBH-TV.
"We have continually added new features to MovingPicture, stated StageTools President, Bill Ferster, "including the ability to do image rotation and a number of enhancements suggested by our users.”
MovingPicture is very simple to use. The image appears on the screen. Dragging and sizing a framing box icon on top of it changes the view, adding key frames onto the timeline. Editor's can preview the motion in real time without any rendering, so the design process is very rapid. The moves can be previewed in real time, and finally rendered in high without ever leaving the editor’s timeline. Motion is field-rendered at sub-pixel accuracy, so motion is very smooth, and in full 32-bit color.
MovingPicture is available for Windows-based editors including After Effects, Avid, dpsVelocity, Discreet edit, FASTStudio Premiere, RexEdit and SpeedRazor. Macintosh versions are available for After Effects, Avid, Final Cut Pro, Media 100, and Premiere. A fully functional evaluation copy can be downloaded from the website: www.stagetools.com. The MovingPicture Plug-In is priced at $199. Registered users can upgrade at no charge.
